What is Laconeu?
The Latin American Summer School in Computational Neuroscience (LACONEU) seeks to advance the field of Computational Neuroscience in Latin America through the use of advanced tools of mathematical and computational science, along with their applications in biomedical research and clinical practice.
This interdisciplinary investigation of brain function, which integrates neuroscience, mathematics and computational techniques, improves our understanding of brain activities in conditions of both health and disease.
It also drives remarkable advances in education, theoretical modeling, brain imaging and biomedical treatments.
Our goal in this Summer School is to establish an engaging and interactive environment in which students and researchers can exchange ideas, based on the fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge of computational neuroscience, to foster regional internationalization.
This initiative aims to build strong and lasting collaborations between Latin America and more developed nations.
The distinguished faculty involved in this Summer School offers a unique opportunity to significantly advance research in this field within our countries.

La Escuela Latinoamericana de Verano en Neurociencia Computacional (LACONEU) busca avanzar en el campo de la Neurociencia Computacional en América Latina mediante la utilización de herramientas avanzadas de la ciencia matemática y computacional, junto con sus aplicaciones en la investigación biomédica y la práctica clínica.
Esta investigación interdisciplinaria de la función cerebral, que integra la neurociencia, las matemáticas y las técnicas computacionales, mejora nuestra comprensión de las actividades cerebrales tanto en condiciones de salud como de enfermedad.
También impulsa notables avances en educación, modelos teóricos, imágenes cerebrales y tratamientos biomédicos.
Nuestro objetivo en esta Escuela de Verano es establecer un entorno atractivo e interactivo en el que estudiantes e investigadores puedan intercambiar ideas, basadas en los conocimientos teóricos y prácticos fundamentales de la neurociencia computacional, para fomentar la internacionalización regional.
Esta iniciativa pretende construir colaboraciones sólidas y duraderas entre América Latina y las naciones más desarrolladas.
El distinguido equipo docente involucrado en esta Escuela de Verano ofrece una oportunidad única para avanzar significativamente en la investigación en este campo dentro de nuestros países.
